Waste management and recycling in Valencia

RDF

Refuse-derived fuel (RDF) is a recovered solid fuel produced from non-hazardous industrial waste with a high calorific value — plastics, paper, cardboard, textiles and wood — which cannot be recycled. Sabater Materials processes these fractions through crushing, screening and homogenisation, producing RDF with a calorific value, particle size and moisture content tailored to the specifications of each cement plant, paper mill or receiving cogeneration facility.

Characteristics:

CDR manufactured in accordance with the UNE-EN 15359 standard on classification and specification
Particle size can be adapted to the technical specifications of each receiving facility
Monitoring of calorific value, moisture content and chlorine content in each production batch
Separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals using integrated magnetic systems
Full documentary traceability of the waste’s origin and the production process
Regular supply with production capacity tailored to the required volume

Industrial Applications

Cement industry: partial replacement of fossil fuels in clinker kilns
Paper industry: alternative fuel for cogeneration boilers at the plant
Waste-to-energy plants: RDF as the main fuel or in combination with other solid fuels
Industrial boilers: biomass for heat and steam generation in manufacturing processes
Cogeneration plants: the simultaneous production of heat and electricity from industrial biomass
